  With all the recent headlines about Global Warming, I feel we all need to make changes on how we heat our homes, schools, and businesses.

 

     I know the use of Bioheat® will not solve the world problems with Global Warming. However, it does burn cleaner and produces less carbon dioxide than conventional fuels. It will help, and we are encouraging all of our customers to use Bioheat®.

 

    Since March 15, 2006, Collins Oil has sold over 65,000 gallons of Bioheat.  Thus far, there have been no service-related problems or complaints of any kind from the customers!   We believe in Bioheat® so much that we now use B-20 Biodiesel in our fleet of trucks.

 

Facts About Bioheat:

 

Bioheat® is made from soybean oil, a renewable natural resource, and is blended with fuel oil.

Bioheat® burns cleaner than straight fuel oil and produces less of the harmful sulfur and carbon dioxide emissions.

Bioheat® has the highest BTU content of any alternative fuel and does not require any adjustments to your oil burner.

Bioheat® decreases our dependence on foreign oil.

Bioheat® costs about the same as conventional fuel oil.

The use of Bioheat® will not affect the warranties on any heating equipment.

Bioheat® has been test marketed throughout the United States for the past 8 to 10 years, and no problems have occurred with heating equipment that use B5 Biofuel.

Studies have been conducted by the Brookhaven National Laboratory, US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Lab, Massachusetts Oil Heat Council, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, and the National Oilheat Research Alliance.
