Are there any concerns about the storing or handling of Bioheat®?

No, Bioheat is stored and handled the same as fuel oil.

 

Once blended, will the soybean oil remain blended with fuel oil?

Yes. Once blended, it will not separate from the fuel oil.

 

Which has more BTU… kerosene or fuel oil?

Fuel oil has 144,000 BTU’s, Kerosene has 132,000 BTU’s, B-5 Bioheat® has 140,000 BTU’s, and B-20 Bioheat has 137,000 BTU’s.

 

What does BTU stand for?

British Thermal Unit.  One BTU is the amount of energy needed to raise one pound of water one degree.  The higher the BTU, the better the fuel.
